Rebecca John is a botanical artist known for her beautifully intricate paintings. She is the granddaughter of the artist, Augustus John, and is a leading authority on his work. Yet John didn’t come to her own practice until later in life, wary of following in her illustrious grandfather’s footsteps she instead studied jewellery design at Central Saint Martins. Upon entering her fifth decade, she finally succumbed to the desire to paint, holding her first solo exhibition at Lefevre gallery in London to critical acclaim. Her work has since been bought by collectors and institutions worldwide including the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff and The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.

Terms and Conditions: Please note all works will be available for collection from Wednesday 8 November 2023 at Freedom from Torture offices, 111 Isledon Road, London N7 7JW. The artwork will be safely stored, free of charge until Friday 15 December 2023. Alternatively, Freedom from Torture can help organise national and international delivery of artworks through a third party, to the winner. The winning bidder will be responsible for all delivery costs and will be invoiced directly by the third party.
